Prefere Resins is a leading European manufacturer of phenolic, specialty urea and melamine resins. We also produce high-quality derivatives of methanol-(C1)-chemistry from such as paraformaldehyde, formaldehyde, and hexamethylene tetramine. As one of the global market leaders we supply our customers with a wide range of resins, basic chemical raw materials and additives – quickly and reliably from 14 production sites worldwide.

The Site Manager oversees all operational and administrative activities at a Prefere Resins local Site. He/she ensures that the Site operates within budget and complies with all legal obligations. In particular he/she oversees all production activities to ensure that all required HSEQ standards are fulfilled and acts as official representative for authorities in HSEQ matters. This also implies an on-call duty in case of emergencies. Furthermore he/she represents the site concerning to labor law matters which implies also being the main contact person for employees’ representatives.

About your tasks

  • Oversees Site’s day to day operations, financial and administrative activities at the Site
  • Oversees Production Management in order to ensure compliance with all internal and external HSEQ standard and to ensure efficiency of production
  • Responsible for developing the Site’s medium-/long-term direction
  • Oversees maintenance: ensures that equipment and assets are in state-of-the-art condition especially considering compliance with legal/regulatory requirements; addresses need for major required maintenance work/investments timely in advance
  • Ensures health, safety and welfare of all legal employees of the Site
  • Compliance with all external and internal HSEQ requirements
  • Effective employee relationships
  • Well-functioning administrative processes (e.g. Finance, HR)

This makes you successful with us

  • Technical/production economics/economics/engineering education or relevant
  • Any additional qualifications such as in continuous improvement (e.g. Kaizen, ISO 001) and/or project management are an advantage
  • At least five years in a Site Manager (or comparable) role in manufacturing
  • At least five years management/supervisory experience: managing several organizational levels
  • Excellent knowledge of production processes
  • Proficient knowledge of administrative/support processes at a site (e.g. Finance, HR, IT)
  • Excellent leadership skills: ability to lead people with different backgrounds and from different organisational levels, ability to lead people through change
  • Proficient knowledge of HSEQ standards and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of the implementation of continuous improvement projects/initiatives
  • Familiar with working in an international matrix organisation
  • Fluent written and verbal communications skills in both Finnish and English
